Crain's NY Business: RightSignature E-Signature API Simplifies TuneCore Music Contracts

By: Daryl Bernstein / Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Today's Crain's New York Business story explains how Brooklyn-based TuneCore uses RightSignature to streamline music publishing and distribution agreements. TuneCore's platform is the leader in enabling artists to distribute their work on a variety of online music platforms, such as iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon MP3.

A new TuneCore service called Publishing Administration helps artists collect royalties when their music is used in any of dozens different ways, including in video games, on YouTube, in live performances, in ringtones, and many more. This service requires a large volume of contracts, and TuneCore utilized the RightSignature e-signature API to generate contracts with custom data and collect legally-compliant e-signatures from artists around the world.

In the article, Jamie Purpora, the company's President of Music Publishing Administration, says:

It was really easy to build into the workflow. We didn't have to do anything on our end once it was set up. We can automatically send documents, forms and even schedule follow-up emails if a document doesn't get signed. It's been a really good thing."
